چکیده

One new family, six genera and species of laniatorean harvestmen (Arachnida: Opiliones: Laniatores) from the mid-Cretaceous (Cenomanian, ca. 99 Ma) Burmese amber Northern Myanmar are described. Ellenbergellus tuberculatus gen. et sp. nov. is first fossil assignable to extant family Tithaeidae. Mesokanus oehmkuehnlei newly described Mesokanidae fam. Biungulus xiai Gigantocheles nilsi referred Epedanidae, a previously recorded in amber. Protopyramidops nalae potentially Pyramidopidae. Finally, Palaeobeloniscus thilolebi nov Beloniscidae. These records offer constraints for origins four modern families suggest that forests hosted fairly diverse fauna which mostly belonged lineages still present Southeast Asia today.

Evolutionary biology of harvestmen (Arachnida, Opiliones).

Opiliones are one of the largest arachnid orders, with more than 6,500 species in 50 families. Many of these families have been erected or reorganized in the last few years since the publication of The Biology of Opiliones. Recent years have also seen an explosion in phylogenetic work on Opiliones, as well as in studies using Opiliones as test cases to address biogeographic and evolutionary que...

Mummified precocial bird wings in mid-Cretaceous Burmese amber

Our knowledge of Cretaceous plumage is limited by the fossil record itself: compression fossils surrounding skeletons lack the finest morphological details and seldom preserve visible traces of colour, while discoveries in amber have been disassociated from their source animals. Here we report the osteology, plumage and pterylosis of two exceptionally preserved theropod wings from Burmese amber...

Grimaldinia pronotalis n.gen., n.sp. from Mid-Cretaceous Burmese Amber (Hemiptera: Heteroptera, Leptopodidae, Leptosaldinae).

A new genus and species of leptopodid bug, Grimaldinia pronotalis Popov & Heiss is described and illustrated from Burmese Middle Cretaceous (Albian-Cenomanian) amber originating from the northern Myanmar's Kachin State. This is the second finding of Leptosaldinae (Leptopodidae), after Poinar published on Palaeoleptus burmanicus from Burmese amber in 2009.

An occurence records database of French Guiana harvestmen (Arachnida, Opiliones)

This dataset provides information on specimens of harvestmen (Arthropoda, Arachnida, Opiliones) collected in French Guiana. Field collections have been initiated in 2012 within the framework of the CEnter for the Study of Biodiversity in Amazonia (CEBA: www.labex-ceba.fr/en/). This dataset is a work in progress.  Occurrences are recorded in an online database stored at the EDB laboratory after ...

A fossil bee from Early Cretaceous Burmese amber.

The bee fossil record is fragmentary, making it difficult to accurately estimate the antiquity of bee-mediated pollination. Here, we describe a bee fossil [Melittosphex burmensis (new species), Melittosphecidae (new family)] from Early Cretaceous Burmese amber (approximately 100 million years before the present). The fossil provides insights into the morphology of the earliest bees and provides...
